In order to make a prototype for our future, i have looked into what key aspects our future have and what can be invented in that generation.
- Payment and data store chip (body planted)
- Environmental friendly transport and high speed.
- Human are more keen into connecting in real life and looked away from screens. Technology are replaced with a more natural approach.
- Personal data is no longer private while everybody have their data stored in their chip and in many facilities.
- Easier to get in contact with one another.
- Diverse class from rich and poor. creative and labor.
- Relationship can be invented and planned. Natural emotions no longer be the big part in relationship. chemical can be used.
Based on the points that I listed, i have develop a sheet of what i can design for the future.
In 2050, people try to find a balance between natural relationship and planned relationship. Try to make the society more connect.
So my choice of prototyping is a “wall”, this is built to bring more people together, help people to know others in a quicker, efficient way. Life time data brings technology everywhere in the city.
This is a small draft prototype i made in week 10. The lines are the connections between people that passed by and had their data stored inside the wall’s brain. it automatically sends signal while it detect the person is shy to say something first.
When i came to finalise my deign, i tried to start with a question that I gave my self earlier this week: IF THE QPID ITEM WERE MADE FOR RICH PEOPLE, WHAT WILL I DO TO BENEFIT NOT ONLY THE RICH BUT THE WHOLE SOCIETY?
In our future, the labour work or anything that does not require creativity or instant decisions making are going to be done by either the artificial intelligence or simple computer robot. Human’s big role in this society is that human create art, have feelings and based on our feelings we react to situations or object. The importance of creativity has gone up more than ever. This makes the people who are creative very rich, on the other hand, people who has no creativity or less creativity can only survive in the lower class as they do not have much value as the creative ones does.
This class-grading situation will impact the love and relationship in the future because the poor has no access to the rich as they do not live in the same class and will not even work in the same working space, the rich will no longer know what the poor is like or have the opportunity to understand them.
In order to solve this problem, I have decided to make this wall in every building in the world so that no matter what class they are in, they will have the most convenient way to access it rather than going to one place. However, if the wall is to be made for every building, it might mean that every building will have the same appearance, which is defiantly impossible in the future, so I decided to make this wall invisible while not using and can be summoned.
The future is full of technology as we have made robot and AI all over the world and work for human, this wall will have the a brain wave detect function, when the user is wanting the wall to appear, it will automatically appear and only in a single signal that matches this user’s brain so that nobody else can see this wall and what the user is doing with the wall.
As I have said during the presentation, this red flat square represents that this wall has find a perfect match in the database for the user, if they want to gain full access to the match’s information, they will have to ask the wall to send a signal to the match to ask for permission, the full data will include their personal feeling, hobby, property they own and many other privacy, however if the user only need simple information such as contact number or name, they will not need any permission once the wall decide that they are above 90% match.
This red vertical curve will appear when the wall have no match in its database and need to user to wait or to find another way. The portrait red curve means the wall has found a match under 60%, the user will not have any information about the match unless they have permissions to do so.
From the beginning of human generation, there has been no perfect human relationship or perfect experience about love, things can easily go wrong even if their data are a perfect match, AI can not foreseen what is going to happen in the match it gives out. Based on this common sense, I have tried to find a way to reduce harm that the match could bring to the world. So I invented this wall with a function, which is memory data. When the user wants to delete or hold their bad or good memories with their partner, they can come to the wall and request for a memory service. They can delete the memory once and for all, or they can hold their memory inside this wall and come back for it within a decade. The wall will delete all memories relevant and will not impact the person’s daily life.
